Luis Javier Guerrero Villamar

Luis Javier Guerrero Villamar is a great admirer and lover of the art world. From a very young age he liked to draw and paint. He studied arquitechture at the Santiago de Guayaquil University. In 1975 he moved to Toronto. Since his arrival in Canada, he started collecting all kinds of art such as Canadian and from around the world. He has dedicated most of his life in Canada supporting charities by donating his art and also lending his art for exhibitions. He has also donated and supported artists from some countries around the world that he has visited.

Luis Javier to have the opportunity to meet with some famous Canadian artists such A. J. Casson, member of the Group of Seven, Richard Gordman, Charles Pachter, Carl Beam, Rita Letendre, one of the Automatists, Joe Fafard, William Ronald from Painters Eleven Group, Curtis Hooper and some others. Among the international artists, he met Christo and his wife Jeanne Claude, famous for their installation and environmental artworks in urban and rural sites. At the same time, he has supported several Ecuadorian painters not only by buying their art work but also by giving sponsorship and marketing their work in Canada and in other countries, as well. Luis Javier had the honor to meet with two of the greatest painters from Ecuador in the XX century, Oswaldo Guayasamin and Eduardo Kigman. He is presently in contact with some of the most famous painters that are continuing with the vision and the work of these two great Masters.

Luis Javier has visited a great number of museums around the world but has not seen a single permanent exhibit from any Ecuadorian artist. The Ecuadorian art is one of Luis Javier's passions. This is reason that he has dedicated this site to every Ecuadorian artist that wishes to share their ideas throughout their art work so that it could be exposed to the whole wide web and also have to opportunity to be exposed in any of the world's museum.
